Hi lads, TV working fine except that what it has a dark area on the right lower side. Also, the previous picture stays on the screen. When Tcon flex cable disconnected from the screen, a screen is clear white. All Voltages and capacitors checked and look OK. Looking advise from colleagues with experience, could there be faulty TCON.

Looks more like a display panel problem to me - either discolouration of the diffuser sheets in front of the dark area, or one of the CCFLs isn't fully illuminating. Might be a case for dismantling the display panel.                   Bruce

Hi Bruce, thanks for the reply, but I am confused because with disconnected TCON-Panel left flex cable the white color is clear and solid.

True, and I can't explain why. Maybe with no drive to the problem side (flexie removed), it effects the brightness level &/or the backlight drive, but I've read about sheets becoming discoloured.

Might have to eat my words, but my money's still on a panel defect.                 Bruce

Today I dismantled the panel but didn't find faulty CCFLs and all diffuser sheets look clear. Probably a problem is in the LCD Panel.

Sorry rulex, missed those piccies. So the CCFLs look good there. If it's not the diffuser sheets, then you got me bamboozled.
