Hi all.Have a Samsung 43RU7100KXXU .The owner seems to have acessed the secret menu resulting in the rgb settings been altered, the screen has a light purpel hue when the colour is turned down .Have tryed doing a factory reset but it did not cure it.Any suggestions where to go next much appreciated.

Hi Al. I wonder if its a case of something I've read about quite often. It appears in some cases that the LEDs get overdriven and instead of emitting white light they start showing a bluish tint. I've never had it but it appears to be reasonably common. Try winding the saturation back to zero to display a b&w screen if possible and see if it still looks purplish.                               Bruce

Hi Bruce Many thanks for reply, you may well be right, when the colour is turned down there is a purple hue on the black and white display, will pull it apart and have a look at the leds and will report back .Thanks Al

Just a update on this, got the led strips replaced but did not cure the fault, have gone through various gray scale settings on the picture menu but cant get proper skin tones and the picture  still has a blueish hue with the colour turned down.Am thinking its a screen issue as cant think what else it can be.Anyway thanks guys for the info, its all appreciated .this job would drive you to drink so thats where am going only the bars are all closed here

Did you power up any of the old strips to see if they were blueish

If you have the Samsung service remote, you could access the panel option and make sure the number on the panel is matched to one of about 250 panels listed in the option.                                      Bruce
