Title: philips tv - it might not be the painter ic
Post by: dskservices on July 24, 2008,07:23:16
Just a bit of advice for anyone with a Philips tv fitted with the painter ic which has become a pain to say the least. Had one of these in the workshop recently, int switching to standby. The painter chip was the obvious suspect, but something made me change the power supply ic. To my surprise, the fault was cured.
So be warned, it's easy to blame the painter chip for faults which might be something else.
Hope this advice is useful.

Are we talking A10 chassis?
You need to check a small choke left side edge of board, it supplies 5v to painter. It goes dry and gives all sorts of faults. Lovely chassis..... :dubbio:
