Hi all, I have a Goodmans GTV42P 42" Plasma Tv, it has stopped working the screen is blank, the red standby light is there and when you press a channel number on the remote it changes to green but nothing happens, you can hear a clicking in the tv and then stops. Whats up with it guys?
please help.
I have opened the back up and on the middle board there is a green LED that is lit up and when you press the channel number a second one lights up when it clicks but then goes off and another LED goes red and then nothing

hi there, we have one in for repair with exactly the same problem...lol...not yours is it.?? hehe
looks like the power supply to me....all voltages seem to come up and then go apart from the vs supply....it makes it upto around 1.5v....ive disconected the ysus board and the z sus board and still the voltage refuses to come up...i suspect the power supply is faulty but could do with a service manual just to make sure.....
i think the red led comes on to say the power supply is faulty or general power faults....i noticed with 1 green led on means standby good....then power on another 2 green leds come on to say power supply good then green leds go out and red led comes on for power failure along the line some where....

Ok so what do you suggest then, as i cannot find the boards on the intenet for it and everyting else is good with the tv so it would be a waste to scrap it. and no mine isnt in for repair lol

still working on this ........ it uses mostly samsung pcbs...and we have no service info....so its been put to one side whilst i catch up on incoming repairs....still after some info .......we had a older philips plasma come in that was dead , and again used samsung pcbs.....we are philips service agents so getting the service info wasnt a problem there.....except the power supply pcb schematic wasnt included, it did help with fault finding the power supply......
all i can say though is that the 1st led which comes on green = +5v from reciever ok
the next 2 green leds that come on = power supply standby +ve ok and power supply ok
the red led that comes on = power supply trip , fault condition detected...
