When my LG RZ-15LA70 is plugged in and switched on everything works as normal for the first 20-60 seconds at which point the TV powers off. The TV will not power up again for some time afterwards. I suspected something was overheating.
On opening up the back I found that U101 (PN: TOP246YN) AC-DC switching power convertor became very hot within the first 10-15 seconds. Is this normal? I was tempted to just replace this component but it may well be that the problem is due to another component on the power supply board.
I can order and replace this component for less than £5 or replace the whole board for around £45.
Any advice or further insight...?

Still no remedy for this issue... Anyone..?

Hi Mick,
I have had this fault a few times and sometimes changing U101 cures the fault, but sometimes it doesnt!
I tried ringing LG but they just tell you to change the board!
So I think its either chance your arm and change the IC or scrap it(or EBAY it)
Hope this is of some help
