Title: Fixed Toshiba 20WL56B
Post by: buffy on January 04, 2009,12:39:38
At last the Tosh is fixed    :cheesy1:  :shout: its taken 4 - 5 months..... but i had 2 boards, one has the osd/menu fault (unfixable) god knows, i suspect the controller chip....  The other was the picture breaking up moving - which was traced (by accident) to Q101 a tiny, tiny mosfet chip, getting VERY hot, it was shorted internally!!!  I got myself a T0220 QFET FQP06 from bits box, well its a mosfet!!! the FET chip was only switching DC volts.... and IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!    right bodge fitting it though... used veroboard to isolate the Transistor from the chassis.. held the thing down with silver tape, IT WORKS!!!! now i just need a remote!!!

Sorry if I appear ignorant, but what does IOM mean in this context?

That's the only definition of IOM I could think of, (other than Intitute Of Management), but could see how either fitted in this context. I was trying to think of some technical phrase, and thinking have I not learned anything in 24 yrs of electronics?!!!!

My faith is restored.... thanks..
