Hello all,
I am looking to buy or make a backlight tester.
This would be for LCD tv's and computer monitors.
I have seen 3 different types and would like to here if any members
have any experience with them.
CHS list a HR model (9442003) now discontinued, and a Zippy (9091257) @
£63.
Ebay list one, item number 220348565734, which is home made @ £24.99 +
postage.
Do they work on all types of backlights?
Has anyone made one maybe from a scrap TV or monitor?
Any information would be appreciated.
Many thanks Ian Harrison (Sound and Vision)

Hi,
I bought a little inverter from SEME for just a few pounds which works fine for me.
I have also seen on Ebay some universal Inverters for £7.00 from Hong Kong. I have ordered one to give it a try.
I have never had a faulty backlight yet, but by lighting up the screen it does prove weather its the sets inverter that is at fault.
regards
Mark

Hi Mark,
I would be very interested in the one from Seme.
Does it come with a power supply and does it check single lamps.
Have you got the order code ?
Many thanks.
Best regards Ian.

Hi Ian,
try INV-CCF122C £1.88 . It needs a 12V supply & is designed for lamps up to 400mm.
It has 2 output sockets.
