Title: LG RZ32LZ55 Flashing Standby Light
Post by: ukez on May 13, 2009,16:33:25
My LG RZ32LZ55 LCD TV wont turn on. The standby light stays on when plugged into the mains as it should, but when i try to turn the television on via the remote or switch the standby light starts flashing and nothing else happens.

I've opened up the set to see if i can notice anything apparent, the only thing i've noticed that looks suspect / faulty was a resistor no.R835 on the power supply main board.

The TV Make LG
The TV Model RZ32LZ55
The PSU  Main board No is:                  [6871TPT275E PCB REV 2.2 05062T KTH, LDH B12-L02P]
The LG PSU Main board Resistor No is :  [R835]

I removed the resistor R835 and tested it and that is showing no resistance at all.

The Colour Code of the resistor is [Red/Red/Gold/Gold] 2.2 ohm +/- 5% tolerance watt = unknown???

The resistor is beige so I'm assuming that's Carbon; but I'm not sure of its "WATT", does anyone have any ideas?

Also, does anyone have any ideas of what may have caused this to blow obviously something along the line would have caused it to fail, could it be a power surge or another component?

Would anything else be blown, or would replacing this resolve the issue?

hello. if yourre getting the standby light that alters when you hit the standby or channel button i would assume that the psu is ok, when i get to work i will dig the manual out, from memory the light flashes until the P.on from the main signal board is established, if this line, 3v, is not present you will get these symptoms, as an aside on the 37in of the lz55, these blast the psu, the 5v standby line retains but the switched lines disappear when the main psu fail. the markings are on the board, check the power on from the micro, do you need the circuit diagram?

Hi Tony,

Do you have the diagrams for the LG RZ32LZ55? I'm only asking as i don't think the mains power board circuit  is the same in the 37" model. I think the 6871TPT275e PSU is only common in the 32" & 26" RZ**LZ5* models. Due the possibly difference I'm not even so sure they will have the same solutions for the same or similar symptoms.

Feel free to correct me on that if I'm wrong though, all advice is welcome and appreciated

This TV is becoming a right pain in the ass, I really need to get this thing repaired..

I need a circuit diagram for the [6871TPT275e board /Aka BT-EFL30180W-B]

The LG RZ32LZ55 power board voltages are:

24v 6.0A
12v(15v) 2.4A
33v 0.1A

Total 180w Max

hello, sorry for any confusion, i mentioned the 37inch as an extra, you are correct in saying the 37 is different, i think i said so in my posting.
unforunately psu diagrams are rarely shown, i dont know why, if you get foxed on the psu we can do you one, if, as you say, the standby led just flashes please make sure you are getting a power on from the micro, ill mail you the manual this morning
