Title: LG 32LC2D sound problem.
Post by: froggy on May 14, 2009,07:51:10
hi, i have an LG 32LC2D which has developed a sound problem, its o,k for a few minutes then the sound starts to break up until its virtually non existent, this also coincides with a buzzing sound that is coming from the powerboard, in standby its buzzing a little but when its switched on the noise gets noticably louder, i found 1 cap that had domed on top so replaced that but still no different, any help would be appreciated

hi tony, yes the cap i replaced is on the psu [1000uf 16v] [c208], ive since located the noise around transformer [T500] & transistor [q123] on the psu, dont know if this helps at all.,,,,many thanks.

hello again, if the 19v line from the psu is stable and correct i think the bulged cap may have been an additional issue, these sets suffer from the audio ic failing, some sets have a heat sink over the output ic, some dont, but they do fail, if you feel able to change one they are available, or we can supply a full board.
many thanks

hi tony, im fine with fitting an IC as long as it isnt a surface mounted one, i can get a board for about £50 s/hand unless of course you are cheaper :biggrin2:, also would you have the IC number to hand as ive put the set back together for now & itll save me taking it apart again,,,many thanks
