Hello Folks,
Have a power supply problem (Dong Yang MGM23-P Rev 00) where near the VIPer22 standby chip (which by the colour of the board in that area runs rather hot), a 100p 2kv cap across D5801 is glued to the board.
The glue becomes conductive I suspect, causing flashover that pops the Mains fuse, also the one feeding the VIPer. Fuses and VIPer have been replaced, and now the S/by Led glows.
Taking set out of S/by with RCU, Red Led goes out for a few seconds then re-appears. Suspect other supplies are missing. As this is the sort of problem liable to appear on most of these sets at some point, has anyone met it before ?
