Hi mykeie
This type of problem is usually caused by faulty electrolytic capacitors on the power board. The faulty ones usually have domed or split tops.

John.

Hi mykeie
The suspect capacitors are in one corner of the board and are usually 1000Mf 10Volt types. Remove the circuit board and de-solder them. Replace them with (solder in) 1000Mf 35Volt types observing correct polarity. Re-assemble and hopefully set should work.
Good Luck
John.

It might also be an invertor breaking down, had the same symptom on my Haier and sure enough one invertor went open circuit and i was left with a one second flash of blue screen then nothing.
