Title: Repairs for dead RCA PSU
Post by: shurikdm on July 19, 2009,18:37:50
Hello all,
I have a power supply unit for a RCA 37" LCD Television, model number L37WD12. The part number for the psu is 272062, and it is unfortunately no longer available so I cant get a replacemetn anywhere (or at least anywhere I looked).
I have diagnosed the problem to be the psu, but I simply cannot find what the issue is on the board. Most of it seems to be running fine, but there is pretty much no voltage coming from the outputs. My electrical skills are greatly limited though so I cant diagonose the specific problem on the PSU. Can anyone direct me to someone that is experienced in repairing such PSU's, etc that could potentially look at it?

Thank you.

Just wondering if you were able to help out with the power supply... I've got the same problem with my tv.  I've got a schematic of the P/S if you wanna take a look at it.  I can check voltages and let you know my findings.  This P/S has just been kicking my butt.

Hi folks,

As a thought, all info is useful - piccies, shematics and such - mainly piccies as Far Eastern power panels are used in all cheapies - most everything is now a cheapy, but at least they function 'till a year is almost out - good for repairs but  - Chris

If you have the PSU out, can you remove the black cover and send a piccy, as close as posible, identify standby smp IC, PFC and resonator IC's. Make a note of anything you see.
