Hi Folks,
Have one of these where bringing out of standby, Led goes from red to green, relay clicks and there is a buzz from the works. There is no screen illumination or sound.
Any ideas ? - Chris.

got exactly the same fault on my daewoo dp42sp. replaced the ysus and still doesnt work, but it needed replacing anyway due to some idiot thinking he was quite good with a soldering iron but just cocked it up, this is what made me thing the board was faulty therfore i replaced it.
i managed to get hold of a service manual now and followed the troubleshooting flow chart and it might be the scan board, apparently?

Hello all, and thanks Waxhead,
Do we feel this Hyundai is in fact a Daewoo - well in earlier years, known Names actually made things, even if some were crap, won't mention any (but quite tempted) because some of us made much cash out of the failure of cheap British rubbish components.
Well, the French and Dutch came close second, but the Japanese influx of the 70's (apart from Sharp, and Hitachi with those 'instant on' tubes and PCB corrosion) nearly pensioned us off - well I'm rather ancient but still keen.
Dusting the Avo - Chris.

Hi Chris,
I think you can be on a hiding to nothing trying to repair some of these cheap imports!
I usually start by unplugging the upper and lower buffer boards one at a time to see if the set comes out of protection and at least that will narrow it down a bit for you.
Then if it is still buzzing I would check for shorts on the voltage rails, but without a manual it will probably be hard work finding your way around the set
Hope this is of some help

Hi and Thanks again Brian,
Set was a gift so not really important in itself, will check out your ideas. See very few Plasma but lots of LCD. Do I guess that this Hyundai is not a known brand ?
Thanks again - Chris.

Many of the Hyundai brand are LG clones. SUPER8

Hi and thanks John,
Had a HPT44250 and that was a LG clone. This one looks different, know what it is ?
Thanks Chris.

Hi Chris
Those white stickers on the boards look suspiciously like they may have lg part numbers on them.If they are they will begin 6871qyh.....for y-sus,6871qzh.....for z-sus etc.

Thanks for that Nick,
Had a close look and numbers didn't tie up with LG, were all PKG4 --- However found another label hidden away on the PS metalwork that bore the label Sanken PNT-426SK - probably just the PS maker.
Thanks again - Chris.
