Title: lg suffering from Mal discharge

i have a lg 42px11 in the set is suffering from lg 42px11 set is suffering from no picture with Mal discharge.
yellow colored bars on screen.

anyone any tips.

Hi,

If the set is suffering from Mal discharge then you need to reload the firmware with a special jig which is only available to LG service agents.
If you are not an agent then all you can do is replace the control board and cross your fingers!

thanks brainstorm,  so would you say the pdp panel is faulty? or is it just software issue ??

also what causes mal discharge bad panel or bad software.

this looks symptomatic of one the y drive boards failing, usually the lower one, remove to prove, power up with the board unhooked, if the top half of the pic is ok u need a new one, but dont run longer than a few minutes with it missing, we have them if you require one
