Title: grundig gu15wdt

on powering up the screen comes on for 2-3 seconds then goes off sound stays on, sometimes screen will stay on for about a minute, i now have 4 of these with same fault and lots of people contacting me with same fault, i have check things like dry joints on inverter transformers ect does anyone know what the common fault is whith these?

Hi James,

   Know it's obvious, but there is a link with the GU15WDVDT version where mains adaptor causes backlight problems

Hi, yes on this one it has internal power supply though power supply and inverter on one board, i changed most of the electrolytic caps in psu just a couple i havnt got in so see what happens when they arive and fitted

   Suspecting that Grundig is just a name, and didn't actually make the set, how's about a pic to compare with other Power/Invertor panels - all helps.

turned out to be the cccfl lamps
