hi hope som1 can help sort this out This was given to me so i have no idear of its history and its seems boards have been removed be4. Have tested powerboard and it seems fine correct voltages ect.
tv only powers up when the LVDS is disconnected other wise just relay clicking
i'm wondering if some1 put in the wrong driver or main board. as i tested with a diffrent screen driver board not the 1 for this screen and seemed to power up correctly no relay clicking backlights on and had sound but did not connect the screen as this was not the right driver but seems to work fine
have disconected screen removed power and main board and tested on bench still no go as soon as lvds plugged in relay click. Is the main board paired with the screen driver board therefore the wrong main board could be fitted ??

Hi QS,
May not be useful, with all that board changing stuff, but there are reports of P/S 1000mfd caps being suspect.
Might help - Chris.
-
I'd of thought it would be unlikly the main board is the worng type as if it was from a different model, it simply wouldn't fit.
It could be that its locked up so you can either try to get the set into service mode from cold or see if the fault is on the main board, afte you've checked the caps Chris has told you (top r.h.s. of the psu)

ANdy

Caps look fine and voltages ok.
have blind reset by disconnecting LVDS
but still having the same problem

I have repaired about 10 of these tv's in past 2 years and except from the power caps, a d/j on the inverter tx(power stage),a faulty screen driver/t-con/scaller pcb the eeprom was guilty, which has been
mentioned before.
It is available from CHS at a reasonable price inc p&p.
Best of luck John.

tried a screen driver/t-con/scaller pcb still no go ... could it be the main board . are main boards matched to the screen used ?
-
thneres a surface mount cap faulty on the video driver pcb..i had the same fault a few month back..but i cannot remember the circuit reference..i disoldered the cap then the set started up
-
Are main boards matched to the model of screen being used or are they interchangeable. ive tried changing the main board between the tv but the screens where of not the same . also trid reset still no go.
does any1 no where i can get the correct eprom for my set ,
-
ive got a similar problem on a similar model and it turned out both the main signal pcb and the video pcb are faulty.
so if any one has a main pcb type bn94-01001b + tcon boarb type 240wtc4lv0.5 (model le40r73bdx)
going spare it would be very helpfull

this set as been messed about with be4 , i don't think the correct board type has been fitted any1 know which main board goes with t-con t400xw01 v0. if its a case of diffrent software between the boards any1 know where i can get the eprom dump

hi quick silver
i think the main pcbs are interchangable and you should the just have to change the screen type in the service menu, but it sounds like the t con pcb is not the one for the screen, what make and numbers are printed on the screen? do they match up will the t con pcb? flattvparts.co.uk are quite good at listing which board belongs to which screen.
hope this helps

pannel t400xw01 v.1
t-con t400xw01 v0 ctrl bd 06A60-1A
this seems to be a LE40S86BD does it share the same main board as le40r88bdx ?
-
yes they do use the same board there are several different ones ending in b,d,e,f but they should all work (i think) , they seem to be later production runs
-
one of my replacment parts must be faulty , at a guess would say main board will try to get hold of another and give it another go . will keep u updated
-
Just tried a new main board , still no go runing out of ideas
-
Hi,
I have had this fault before and it was the Tcon board that was faulty, so either you have put in a faulty one or you have a LCD screen fault.
Have you tried disconnecting the TCOn board from the screen and see if it runs?

i've tried 3 t-con , it runs if the lvds cable is unpluged i have not connected the screen ribbons during testing at all didn't want 2 risk any further damage to the screen ,
would a faulty or discontected screen cause it not to start ?
i've tried a diffrent t-con for another pannel and it seem to power up but was not for my screen so did not conect the screen ribbons but it did have sound and backlights.
can any1 check if this is the right t-con board for the pannel
pannel t400xw01 v.1
t-con t400xw01 v0 ctrl bd 06A60-1A
thank for all the help

pannel t400xw01 v.1
t-con t400xw01 v0 ctrl bd 06A60-1A
its the right t-con for the screen . Can't see not having the screen plugged in would cause this fault but will have another go with screen plugged up.
come one guys som1 must have an idea.
