Title: Toshiba SD22VB - VCR+DVD player - Orion
Post by: Turnip on October 07, 2009,12:15:46
Hi Folks,

Have one of these where machine reverts to S/by after a minute or so. Both VCR and DVD seem to function initially, reel drive assy is OK and tape ejects normally.
Suspect power but there are no blown caps or signs of overheating.

   Any thoughts ?        -  Chris.

Hi Chris,
I seem to remember I had a fault like this and it turned out to be the loading motor on the tape deck, and if I remember correctly it had a big worm gear attached to it,try disconnecting it, but you may have to wind the motor manually if the mech is not in the correct position.

Hope this may help

Brian

Hi Brian, and thanks,

Had one on a while ago where the loading motor motor was stuck in full load, and a touch of grease on the worm cured. This one works quite normally until the power cuts, and will eject when machine is in S/by. On this model the mode is sensed optically, so nothing to clean.

One for the tip, I guess - Chris.
