Title: PANASONIC TX 32PD30 GP1 Chassis
Post by: brian on November 16, 2009,16:46:37
Hi.
Got one of these with the STR6656 blown apart, also 2.7ohm 7 watt ballast resistor o/c. Before I replace these Has  anyone come across this before and do I need to replace anything else?
Because i,ts so big I,ve left the set at cust. home.
Really appreciate some help
Bri.

Hi Bri, If my memory serves me there are four diodes that go s/c I think they are zeners and are all together next to the STR and the origonal fault is usually caused by dry joints on the smps transformer. Hope this helps, Norman

Hi,
Sorry to be a pain Norman, but any chance you can remember values and circuit refs.
Have checked chs. with no luck.
Many thanks
Bri.

Hi Bri, I will have a look tomorrow for the info, I think I have it written down somewhere. I will try and send you the manual by email. I don't know if the file is too big to send. Cheers, Norman

Hi Norman.
Have found this info. D809/810 both are MAZ20820AOLS zeners, does it ring any bells?
Thanks
Bri.

Hi Bri, I can't find my notes on this, I had a quick look at the manual and D809 & D811 spring to mind. I emailed the manual to you last night, I hope I was successful. I found 4 diodes faulty as I said on the last one I did. I think they all stood together behind the STR. I found it easier to check them with the STR removed. My memory was never great and it is a couple of years since I saw one of these. Norman.

Hi guys, D812 is a 22v zener,D811 -20v zener,D813/4/9 -1N4005's , D812- BYV-16 fast switching diode and D809 - MA 2082ALFS . Last one I repaired was 2 years ago in a customer's home.

Best of luck John.
