Hi Sparky
Assume you cant get the service mode either. Sounds like eeprom corruption probably caused by the capacitors. CHS stock eeproms for some Samsung models.
Regards
John.

Hi Sparky
Guess its a case of having to start somewhere and the eeprom, being prime suspect needs to be ruled out. Think you`ll need to repair the tv first, in order to give the customer a quote for repairing it?!
Best of Luck
John.

Hi again Sparky
Quite a collection of symptoms that you`ve got on your set. Unlikely, (but nothing seems impossible these days) that the screen would cause the white noise from the scart socket. Assuming your psu is ok its more likely that any (or all) of these odd symptoms could be caused by the eeprom. If you`re unlucky its possible that the signals panel has been damaged by the high ripple from the faulty capacitors.
Substitution of parts is probably the only way you`ll progress with this one!
Regards
John.

Hi Sparky,
Just had same problem on samsung LE40R74, probably similar chassis as yours.
Anyway replaced caps & fitted a blank Eprom,
Set now up and running, only had to retune! no other settings needed!
