Hi sparky
Just repaired a couple of Sharp lcd tvs with similar problems. The problem was data corruption. Managed to start them up in the service mode and carry out `eep clear` in the service menu.
Entered the service mode by simultaneously pressing `input` and `vol-`on the tv whilst applying the mains. It took a few attempts before the screen lit and displayed the letter K. Then press`vol-`and `prog-`on the tv and the service menu should appear. Its also worth checking the lamp error counter in the menus as 5 errors can cause some models to lock up. Not the same models as yours but reckon its worth a try.
Regards
John.

Hi Sparkie,I WAS SCRIBBLING DOWN LOTS OF NOTES from that site, but contrast john had the answer. I highly recomend subscribing to that site because in one week in Dec 09 I got  tips that fixed 2 lcd's. They don't have all the answers, but worth every penny at £19/month.
On the Sharp model above there was too much info to list for similar problems to yours.

John.

Hi Sparky,

Like you am too tight to pay after the first month. Couldn't we work out a system whereby several of us might club together - say at 50p per month.

Well -  Norfolk is known for extreme poverty, (Stephen Fry apart) and all lesser employed locals are currently digging turnips and swedes with frozen fingers.

Tough, but better than trying to mend a Philips L01.1 with that "Cuts to S/by" problem.

Always to the bright side, and after some 50 years with a hot iron - suspect some confusion, but was talking Henley Solon, or a Weller, rather than things not too electronic, but wickedly tasty.

Ever a cheapskate - Chris.
