Title: 42PD6600 hitachi, remote & tv side buttons problem.

37PD6600 HITACHI, Set works ok with good picture however have problems with remote and side power / channels buttons on tv.
once tv is on remote will work ok, but soon as i switch tv off with remote if i press power button on remote set wont respond to remote in standby  also the side power/ channel av buttons on tv wont respond either.

set wont respond to remote when on standby state ( red led ) i have to unplug tv for a while then set will power up without needing remote. then remote will work once tv is switched on. ( out of standby )

Have come across some clone remotes that will put some of these sets into standby and then wont bring them back on but that wouldnt explain non operation of the side control controls.
The first thing to do would be a factory reset "Menu 4725" "option" "factory reset"
Cures many ills with Vestel sets.

thanks for your responce.

i tryed a factory reset but did not do any good.

there is a eprom reset but not sure if this will clear the eprom memory so have not tryed that.

weired problem really as remote & side buttons work ok when tv is on its just when unit it put on standy the remote or side buttons wont bring it out of standby untill i remote power lead and reconnect power.

Hi,

There is considerable feedback about Eeprom troubles with this Vestel. Admittedly, usually, for troubles different than yours.

Suggest you replace it - Chris
