Hi,

I would go with Tello 6, suspecting duff/bulgy caps in the PS as the problem, or perhaps low internal/external speaker impedances causing excess current and cut-out - Chris.

have check all the caps and there is no evadence of bubbling has i said if you mute the tv the set will stay on with no probs without going into standby and i have made up a lead that i can plug into the headphone socket and into my surround sound and has it says in the user manual when you plug headphones in mute the tv and by doing this you can turn up the volume without the tv going into standby so all i can think is it being the av board as this controls the sound and video can any one help has this is all new to me and have bin told it has to be somthing to do with that board

try unplugging the speakers and see if the fault still occours, if not check with different  speakers (same impeadance),
but being a philips this stinks of a software glitch, try entering service mode check for error codes, perhaps preset volume limits to high? try reseting eprom,
good luck

Hi,

As the man says, with headphones no probs. Still feel PS might be the problem - unusual, but with this (Philips) one, who can say.

Philips - Dutch inspred, is as different from our recent 'Eastern normal'  as in those wicked French 'EMO' (Eurosonic) tellies of the early 70's  - Chris - had to try mend them, after suffering from all those Philips radio drive cords of earlier years.

Still nearly sensible - sometimes, just hate Philips, and most things Duch, for ever - Chris

ok, there are two options, the board you have is duff or the software needs to be changed to match this screen. to check this you will need to find out what chassis the set is, this is printed on the label on the back of the set, i THINK its a lc7.2 ,below is an address for the service manual, first easy thing to check is the option codes (printed on the same label) enter the service mode and confirm they are the same,if this dosnt fix the problem you then have to compare parrameters are the same on both board, you will have to refit the old pcb and note all the parameters, this is going to take some time.
the service manual will be a great help, read it first, be warned if you make adjustments that are incorrect you may make the fault worse,
good luck

ps its always possible there was a problem with the software on your old pcb

just noticed the audio amp ic used on the lc7.2 chassis is also used on many a vestel chassis to which they cause lots of problems, perhaps this is the cause of the original fault, now you have two pcbs you could try swopping them.

hi, can you confirm the model no and chassis no, both on the white sticker on the back of the set, the chassis no is in a small box and starts with a bold letter S, so i know exactly which set were talking about. the main av pcb that you have changed can be used in both plasma and lcd sets, hence the need to make sure the software is correct. get me the chassis no and ill be able to tell you which is the audio chip tommorrow.

Hi,maybe the new board was taken from a tv with a different BOM,so you have to write into the tv's memory the right display option code;look at the small label on the bottom corner of your tv,you'll see a three digit number, then with the tv on,digit on the remote '062598MENUxxx' where 'xxx' is the above mentioned number;after, the tv will go into st-by if everything was done correctly.Turn the tv on and see if the image is right.Hope it works.
