Hi All,
I have an issue that I can't seem to get to the bottom of.
My 42pd6600 will not switch on, more accurately after powering on from main switch it instantly goes into standby mode ( no picture just red led) and won't come out of it.
If I leave it unplugged from the mains for a day or two, sometimes it will power on and respond normaly via remote and on screen buttons but after a period of time ( maybe hours sometimes a couple of days) it will drop back into the above symptom.
I have swapped out the power board with a new one , symptoms still the same not sure if its a logic board or main board issue so any help would be a bonus.
Thanks in advance
MJ

yup can relate to the power relay theory, I have tried a second power board and various combinations of individual components and also changed the filter board ..... still no joy . The correct 5 volts is hitting the various points but still nothing.
not sure why it takes being depowered for a few days before it comes back....cant see any dry joints or any overheating marks... Eeprom issue ? not sure why this would give the symptoms Turnip ..can you expand further..be as technical as you like :)

Hi, Madjock,
Not terribly technical personally, but mention Vestel and Eeprom together, and wise men nod.
Not to sure quite why they do, but am always impressed - Chris.
PS - In old tubed stuff, we had that Vestel problem all the time - made a pound - say this just to annoy Sparky, who presumably didn't.
