It is an LCD so sometimes there is as a faulty thing in the LCD. The angle should be straight on its front to prevent seeing a dark thing into the screen.

What do you mean by "gone dark"?

Just a little bit darker than it should be, but still watchable?

Or gone just about black, and if you look very very carefully you can just make out an extremely dark picture, and shining a torch on the screen shows the picture a little better?

If the latter, then the backlighting has failed and is probably repairable.

Think Spraky & Dave have been drinking way toooo much mulled wine...the OP is over 18mths old...I am guessing the Ebay listing has now ended and  more to the point think "Rickyjake" is trying an SEO/Spamming tactic by putting their web address's in the signature. :72:

Me too,

Getting old but not at all wise - Trust S/D will keep us old baby boomers upright in our slow electric transports to the supermarket.

Serious thought - some of us old folks (not me, quite yet) driving on the pavement, tumble into the street, and get squished because their crap transport can't handle any angle above zero.

Perhaps another Quuq section for old folks safe transport  - though perhaps not in a 'saving' filter down economy - Chris.

I suggest you let it checked by a technician to determine the real reason why the screen darkens. Only experts can tell it.

The best thing that you would do is to let it checked by an expert. Only technicians know the best for your TV.
