Title: Vestel 17MB27-2 no signal on freeview. analogue ok
Post by: ProDave on May 12, 2010,15:54:29
I've got a Ferguson F1901LVD on the bench, a 19" freeview tv with built in DVD. The main board is a Vestel 17MB27-2

It's now working fine in all respects, except the DTV side of things finds no channels on either a manual or automatic scan.

The analogue tuning finds everything okay, so it can't be a faulty tuner can it? So what is it?

I have another identical set that's scrap so I can canibalise that one for parts if needs be (it has a damaged screen and a main board fault)

Does anyone have a service manual for this?

Yes thanks, I hadn't got around to replying on this forum.

Yes it was a dodgy connection on the interconnecting IF cable from the main board to the freeview board. I swapped the cable over with one from an identical scrap set and all is well now. Reading other forums, it seems the quality of the cables assemblies on these chassis is not great (another forum reported a poor connection on one of the power cables)
