Title: Bush IDLCD26TV22HD - Vestel MB22-2
Post by: Turnip on July 24, 2010,12:06:39
Hi folks,

Good day at the tip - have one of these where sound was OK, screen initially blotchy white, brighter at the top, then a perfect picture appeared.

After a while a static defocussed looking pic was seen, but on pressing RCU buttons all was again well, and has been since.

Bet someone knows, but I don't, yet  - Chris.

Hi Chris
Might be a screen problem. Next time the fault appears try twisting the panel by holding the top corners of the set and flexing it to see if it affects the fault. Have seen quite a few 26 inch sets with similar problems.
Regards
John.

Hi John,

Twisted screen when initially blank and got picture - twisted again and picture moves normally then freezes.

Guess you're right - one more for the pile - Thanks - Chris.

Hi Chris
Oh well, look on the bright side- psu board, inverter board, lvds board, signals board. Hopefully you might make that pound somewhere after all!
Regards
John.

Thanks John, and this one cost 3 quid, so must go some to recoup, poundwise. In East Anglia, we're all Turkey slices - nothing else pays.

And FTV board as well.

Matter of interest took the screen apart looking for loose screws or dries, naturally finding none.

Do you suspect it's a bit like those Philips ones that go dark blue where the fault is in the screen panel itself, rather than in connections from the drive board to the panel ?

Thanks again for your help - Chris.

Hi Chris
Dismantled a few of these sets hoping to find an iffy connection to the screen but never have. Think the problem is 'inside the plastic'. The symptoms your set shows seem to be quite common with 26" screens. As ever though a certain diagnosis doesnt seem possible.
Had a 26" Philips in with a bluish screen that faded to wide vertical blue/purple stripes and had the chance to try the modification that links the two pcb`s at the top (lvds) and the side of the screen with jump wires. Found it quite easy to carry out and pleased to report it did the trick.

Note that my sets symptoms werent exactly the same as in the above pictures.

John.

Hi John, and thanks.

Had one of those blue screen Philips with the advice that doubtful in-screen links could be checked and hard wired. Spent a jolly day checking continuity top to side, then dumped it  - glad to see your info - Chris.
