have you tried powering the power board in test mode without nothing else connected to be sure its the psu at fault?. you do this by jumping two pins in the connector to the main board. i did this on a philips but it was a different model. do you have a service manual handy?

no mention of the test mode i was talking about, must of been only on the philips i did.

thanks waxhead
this model seems to have two different power supplys fitted and the one i have isnt in the service manual, anyway customer started twisting when i said the bill could be over £100, he was thinking more of £60,if i  had known at the start i wouldnt have wasted my time on the job, another one for the bin!

Hi Daz,

Just a thought - if it isn't the Fujitsu PS (model unspecified) with that cap problem, what is it  ? - as Quuq folks might want to know at some point - Chris.

hi chris
the one fitted to the set i had is part no 310432842742 (top pic below) and c2508 fixes error two usualy on this psu (not in my case) this one has been discontinued, the later sets had the other psu fitted (bottom pic)

but customer picked set up so we will never know what caused the fault
