Title: Pansonic FX74
Post by: geomap on August 17, 2010,10:40:20
Hie

I would like to thank you all for helpfull postings & replies. Well, I am having a problem with Panasonic FX74 CTV. This set works fine for 3 to 5 hrs & then behaves as if the screen voltage has been increased. It will show white raster & flyback lines then horizontal line at the centre (frame collapse). After 30 seconds it goes to standby. If you switch it on, it responds & can play for another hour. I have tried the frame stage, replacing capacitors, jungle IC AN5607, but that did not help. What can be causing this problem? Pliz help.

Hi geomap
Dont recognise the model number but had a similar problem on a panasonic 28" EURO 4 chassis and it turned out to be the CRT. The grid voltage was floating upwards over a period of an hour or so until eventually the screen was so bright the set tripped. Monitoring the grid voltage should give an indication of wether the fault is in this area. Bear in mind also that the grid will probably have a clamping circuit which could be faulty.
Regards
John.

Hi Geo and John,

If Euro 4, just whack the FOP heatsink checking pic then re-solder - always a good earner - Chris.
