Title: BUSH 17MB15E-5 17MB15E-7 NO PICTURE JUST BLANK
Post by: rebel-mc on August 18, 2010,15:08:42
Hi All,
I've got a couple of Bush LCD tv's with the following mainboards fitted -
26" Bush 17mb15e-5
32" Bush 17mb15e-7
Both have the same fault.  Power on to just a backlit screen with no picture.
Would I be right in thinking that a reprogram of the eeprom would be the next cause of action.  If so would it be best to replace the eeprom with new?  Is there a specific eeprom to use?
Both boards have different eeproms fitted (24c32wp and 24wc32l) does this make any difference.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
Regards.

I had exactly the same symptoms with a Samsung 40" after replacing the usual caps in power supply..backlight on, sound ok but no pic. I replaced eeprom more in hope than anything elase and that was the problem.

Have you got sound ? If yes i would check for any blown minature smd fuses on the T CON board thats the small board on the back of the lcd screen, very common for these to fail.

Hi All,
Forgot to say, on the 26" if I remove the eeprom and power up the tv and then switch off and then re-insert the eeprom the tv will come on and work fine until it gets switched off again.

Any idea's anyone.

Hi, Ive now got 2 more of this type tv with the 17mb15e-5 board all with the same fault (no picture just backlight).  One wharfdale 32" and a Dual 32"?  I have been told this will the eeprom.  Before I invest in a programmer, I would just like a bit of advice on programming.  Ie eeprom type.

Any Help?
Thanks
