Title: Panasonic DMR-EZ25 U01 displayed
Post by: Turnip on August 21, 2010,06:04:36
Hi folks,

Have one of these FTV DVD recorders displaying U01 after the usual 'please wait' bit. Tried holding down Ch up and stop in S/by - DVD opened empty after some seconds. Tried then holding down those plus eject - machine came on and displayed U01.

Any thoughts ? - Chris.

Hi Chris,

Are you sure it's U01 ??

Ive never heard of that code and ive repaired a lot of these babies!

If you have another look i bet its U81(should have gone to specsavers)

Hi, and thanks Brian.

Will check that error number when boss man gives me my journeyman tablet.

Searching fer his specs - Chris.

Found his pince-nez so attach piccy of this well-cool baby in fault mode - looks like U01 to me but - So what's U81 (Guess no specs)

PS - Hi Dave, read that in one of 'Brainies' earlier epistles, guess he puts the 'P' into Anasonic for us Quuq folks.

Hi Chris,

The pic is a bit shaky(you need to put more water in your drinks!) so could be U81.

I have had C1533 680uf 6.3v causing no dvb, so could trigger U81 worth a look, they usually bulge.

I will send you a really nice guide to help you in case that doesnt work!

Gee, and thanks Bri,

Always press me own apples for our Norfolk cider - no other water employed apart from bathing.

As to your C1533 - most impressed, got me back me FTV tuning, and made a pound - don't tell Sparky - or he'll want one too, though as a Midlander even more  - Chris.

PS - Thought to mention that I found C1530 (100/25) bulgy, so replaced it. Made no difference of course but it's on the same buck convertor as C1533, which in this case was fine.

Hi Dave and thanks.

Changed the Sanyo caps and all seems well. Guy I was about to buy a stand from has same problem so when I tell him about the caps guess he'll keep it.

It's an ill wind that blows no-one any good - or somesuch - Chris.

PS - As to the Bush mainboard - no use to me with a duff power board, so - my pleasure.
PPS - U81 seems to be a known freeview board problem - anyone got a spare one  ?

Will they address of the issue of being able to play what you recorded on this unit on Blu-Ray with other non Panasonic Blu-Ray players?  Will it also have Digital inputs?
