Title: Help with my PLasma TV - Blank screen but the YSUS or XSUS is working
Post by: obagama on September 07, 2010,09:31:48

I have a Samsung PS50B450 50" Plasma which has developed a fault with the screen.

The screen is blank after trying out a trick to get rid of thick black vertical line.

I know for sure YSUS, XSUS and the control boards are working since I tested them on another screen S50FH-YB04.

I think the E and F buffer's on the bottom is faulty and I cannot trace the faulty resistor or ceramic fuse.

What I did was bridge one of the small smd resistors where I was getting black lines after reheating the cof resistor which did not fix it.

I have since change the small smd resistor and the big ceramic fuse next to the power connector from the Ysus with no luck

I would be grateful if anyone has resurrected a black screen where the y or x sus is not faulty.

I cannot change the e/f buffer board since they are glued or soldered to the bottom ribbons.

I would appreciate any help at all.

Thanks

Hi Ob,

Just a thought as with some LG, resistors can become 'dry' and fall off lower horizontal flexible feeds causing black vertical bars.

Don't know if Samsung have similar probs - Chris.
