Title: Hitachi 42PD4200
Post by: Cornboats on September 29, 2010,05:56:25
FS1 blown fuse on Z-SUS. Have checked diode modules, capacitors, resistors and mosfet on board.

Anyone had similar problem?

Hi CB,

No, but have some general info - Chris.

Chris many thanks for the info.

Have had a look at the flow chart to see if I've missed anything.

Have checked vcc, va, & vs voltages.OK

ref flow chart -No picture

Any idea what the notation means "va no uprise, vs: down after up, vs: no uprise, va: down after up" ?

Hi Cornboats,

No idea at all - never met one, but guess some Quuq chaps will come up with something if we keep talking about it - some knowing folks need a bit of a push

Not me -  as I know nothing  - all the best - Chris.

Hi Chris.

Although I had Va and Vs voltages to start with I lost both during troubleshooting so I went back to  Z-sus board for a further look.

All diodes fuses and fets tested ok but I then turned to the IPM.
Ref LG V6 Trouble shooting.

"When each 4 TEST Diode value is over 0.4V =OK. Reverse = infinity"
1) Gnd+, Sus-out- =.376
2) Sus-out +,Vs - = short
3) ER-DN -,ER-COM + = .493
4). ER-COM - ,ER-UP + =.581
The above polarity was reversed and 1,3,4, tested infinity but 2 was short.

I therefore conclude that item 2 above is where the problem lies.

I'll try and get a zsus board but in the meantime have you ever stripped down an IPM? Is it worth doing to find the fault?  :73:
