Title: Marks on LcD screen
Post by: parsh on October 04, 2010,11:40:59
Hi,

An unusual one this but I have some marks on the LCD screen of my Panasonic TX-32LXD70.  Despite many attempts at cleaning the screen the marks remain and I think they are on the inside of the screen, possibly between the screen and the LCD panel.  Is this possible?  If so how do I go about removing the screen to clean it?

Any help gratefully received.

Hi Parsh,

Have often noticed dark permanent pressure marks on monitor screens possibly due to handling - not so usual with large screen sets as folks carry them differently. Alternatively might be a duff tube although invertor usually cuts, and the dark patch would be continuous and horizontal.

What sort'a marks ?  - Chris.

hello
if they look like bruises or smudges it is due to an impact, which damages the filter layer of the screen, it is not repairable.
often caused by over enthusiastic hoovering by ones other half!

Thanks for your help everyone.  The marks do indeed look like bruises or smudges and I suspect my other half has been over enthusiastic with the duster.  I can live with it for now but shall issue a stern warning when I eventually replace the TV.

Hi again Parsh,

Empathetic, and with a Kylie'ish wife who can't reach above a mains plug - realise that Quuq isn't normally into poetry - but, 'What the dust', well, for a smile - Chris
