Title: Samsung LE23T51B S Power
Post by: Turnip on October 11, 2010,11:00:19
Hi Folks,
Had one of these a year ago where Viper S/by 4A feed fuse had popped due to conductive Sammy glue on the 100p blue cap across D5801.  Replaced Viper and S/by glows - can be brought out of s/by but then it directly reverts. Tried replacing nearby F9222L - no better.

Today got another one - same prob and result. Feeling is that that 'Sammy glue' is universal and every set will eventually pop, I've had a couple  - guess someone knows, and might tell   - Chris.

PS- Piccy as ever - Checked Chas and replacement PS available, think cust might quibble at £120 plus when Tesco does such tellies with 'DTV,DVD, and needy points' for little more.

Hi Dave,

Hope you don't talk like that, as would have probs interpreting - you're probably one with one of they 'Mobil Fones' for when Turkey breaks down on trip out of the county - poss to visit our Bri in the flat counties before Black Country folks take over, and pick our helpless wallets.

Will go no further, as translation might take some time, and need to pour another glass  - Chris.

Confess, did relief service for the old company midlands-wise in the 70's - well, no further observations as other East Anglian telly menders of that time might be on line, and come hang an old chap from a lamp-post, fortunately we have none hereabouts.

Hi Dave, and thanks.

No, not really, my prob is different from the one you outlined - the cap mentioned is fitted either top or underside the board and secured with that glue that becomes conductive with time.

All else is 'East Anglian Turkey' humour- You need to know one, or perhaps more beasts, for some sanity  - Chris.

Hi Dave and thanks,

Checked out those Chas/Hyde+Son prices - Customer thought that my slightly larger Sanyo analogue loan were were the biz so will not chase rats at Tesco tonight.

In the decent gravy, for the moment  - Chris.

Hi LP,

We're now all at Tesco chasing rats - far better than trying to mend some Chinese Power Supplies, at least one gets fed and that's comforting.

Ever the positive and rather overweight (Recently non-smoking) technician - Chris.

Hi D/J,

Looks like a monitor PS - no sign of any serious amps.

Monitors R cool, but no-one wants to buy 'em if smaller than 20 inch 16:9

Guess most folks need that eye op where they daren't quote for both eyes.

Off to my telescope, there's at least 4 moons around Vestel  - Chris.
