Title: Panasonic TH-42PX70B
Post by: monkeez on October 27, 2010,08:57:13
Hi, i have a Panasonic TH-42PX70B.
It has developed an intermittent fault. The screen will flicker and then go black, but the sound stays on. I have to switch the TV off for a while and then back on to get the picture back. It could be hours/days or even weeks before it happens again.
Any ideas?

Thanks

:sign0144: you may want to dissassemble the unit and check the power inverter for faulty capacitors on the primary voltage side. If even one capacitor has failed; the ripple current exceeds OEM specs and the inverter shuts down; giving the fault you have. Be very careful to discharge these Capacitors as they can be DANGEROUS. They can destroy a meter as well!

What do you mean by power inverter? This is plasma and there's no CCFLs inverters on it :72:
Please check Y-sus (IPM module). Test Vs fuse first, good luck.
