Hi Folks,
Had one of these come by today with backlight fading after a few seconds. Have not met this PS B4 either, but guess some Quuq folks have.
Is it all those 15pf caps being constant trouble, as Sparky always maintains ? Chris
PS - A piccy - of course.

hi chris
haven’t had this fault before on this psu, but i do have in stock a brand spanking new psu (bought in error due to being bone idol and not doing enough checks!)
hows about i let you try it? if it doesn’t fix the fault just post it back, if it fixes the fault you pay me the cost price of the psu £20. wouldn’t normally charge but times is hard.
let me know

Hi, and thanks Daz and Sparky.
Now always want to prove a problem before spending me cash - have a history, and a long shelf of repair things folks said I couldn't do without - some 3 Light Years in extent, and Ebay isn't too keen - well, I've been at it since Hill and Dale were the biz, and that 60's stereophonic steam railway disc stuff were then the modern biz.
Thanks Daz - note you're cheaper than Chas - will happily go for it - feel that Vestel is perhaps here to stay 'till Turkish folks -
Never political - especially so near Crimble - Chris

Hi Daz, and thanks.
Panel fitted and works fine - now to swap bits 'till the old panel works, starting with those blue 'Sparky' caps.
Thanks again - Chris.
PS - Swapped blue feedback caps, inverter trannies, checked those power trench drive chips and transistors and 4n7 caps in CCFL feedback loops - all OK.
The mod where a 1k is fitted between pin 1 of IC301 and deck did the biz - gratified but had similar probs on other sets where that 1k didn't help - earned a pound but like Sparky - never satisfied.

glad to hear it,
some inverter faults do seem to defy logic, looking forward to those simpler led back lights, they carnt be as problematic, can they?
repaired a dry jointed frame chip today and not a bulgy cap in sight, aahhh happy days

Hi Daz and well said.
Feeling that LEDs were the future, I bought several Crimble sets a year or two ago where white seemed blue'ish like those 'Meanies' of old, and they all popped off before the turkey got at all worried.
Guess now recycled as the next generation of Samsung LCD tellies.
Guess that Fo/p dry was a Panasonic Euro 4 - simply gagging for one - Chris
