Title: Techwood TWP4210 - odd picture
Post by: Turnip on November 29, 2010,11:05:43
Hi folks,

Have this set which seems OK apart from having something like field foldover in tube tellies. Can't find a PCL805 or PL508 so attach a piccy.

Any thoughts - Chris.

hi chris
its the z sus pcb and you will have to change the 33mf caps on the y sus pcb.
c16 on the z sus pcb usually pops, this will confirm the fault.
good luck

Hi, and thanks Daz,

After posting went through all that back 42V5 stuff on the site and noticed thoughts invoving that bulgy C16 on the Z-Sus and those 3 caps on the Y-sus 15 V supply.

Nice thing is that 42V5s with all their strange names are now always at the tip - about to tear apart a 'Sliding 42VK10' with a duff PS for a good Z-sus perhaps.

Was a little confused because when I last had a Z-sus with blown fuses, the picture looked normal but awful dark.

Thanks again - still prefer LCD, esp if not Vestel/Tesco crap cheapies - Chris

i have the same set with the same fault which has been languishing on a shelf for some months now, ever hopeful i would come across a working z sus pcb for free, but as of yet no luck,
keep me in mind should you find one at the tip, round are way they guard the Brocken tellies as if there lives depended on it (perhaps making a few pounds in the process)
thanks

Hi Daz, and thanks,

You were right, got a good Y-Sus and Z-Sus from that 'Sliding' with the duff PS and apart from needing a tin opener to change them, all was OK.

Will keep a eye open tip-wise for more - Chris
