I have a two year old Wharfedale LCD37F1080P television that I have recently inherited. The problem is, there is an intermittent buzzing noise that is driving me mad. Here are the facts:
- I have no set-top boxes or other gizmos attached. I just watch Freeview using my standard coaxial cable and the built-in digital receiver.
- I've adjusted the brightness etc, but it makes no difference.
- The buzzing always comes on when I change channels, usually stopping after a few seconds before starting again soon after.
- The buzzing usually starts and stops at times when there is a definite picture change on the screen (though sometimes it just goes on and on).
- The buzzing is still there when I remove the aerial from the tv completely.
- Turning down the volume makes no difference, but it stops when I mute the sound.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful.

Hi Ash,
Guess as Wharfedale have made nothing since those metal coned speakers in the 50's - I was there as a young lad - listening - they were rubbish.
So, what's your set got in in it - Vestel - has to be - perhaps - need piccies
PS - Buzzing on Vestel is usually duff main cap - then the PFC blows up - guess you have got to it in time -
hopefully - Chris.
PS - Loads of back threads from serious Quuq folks with 17PS knowledge.

Hello,
We have had this problem in the past with this model, (sounds like inverter buzz on sound, and muting the sound will remove/lower it), it is very intermittent, and can go for days with no problem.
We have had some success by changing the caps. on the Audio PCB, the Audio PCB itself (18AMP06-4), or the Power-Supply (17PW20v2). These boards might be the starting points to check.
Regards,
John
