Title: philips 50pfp5532 sound but no pic

hi all had this tv in as a favour for someone as you do and turns out to be right nightmare as it usualy is ..so the y buffer was completely anihalated blown to hell so ordered a new y buffer upper and lower also replaced the y.sus and the x.sus in the hope of a result  but no still same symptoms although y buffer was showing clear signs of damage and im already 253.00 out of pocket any suggestions would be greatly appreciated in the hopes of preventing an absolute disaster ..just what you get for tryin to help ..thanks people .dave

sounds like a bit of a nightmare, bit strange this one , usually the repair kit (upper+lower buffer+y sus) sorts these out, stating the obvious, check psu voltages, ribbon cable from ctrl pcb to y sus is in ok + lvds cable from the av pcb to the ctrl pcb hasn’t popped out. have had a duff y sus pcb supplied from lg before so perhaps this is the case here, check the fets on the old y sus pcb they don’t always blow, if there ok it MIGHT be worth quickly plugging the old y sus back in to test.

ps. there is now a repair kit for the y sus if the fets are gone,saves a few quid on relacing all three pcbs

Hi,   I have had this in the past and found smd fuse 4amp on Logic Board open circuit, no obvious short found on board, new fuse did not blow and cured fault.
