Title: Toshiba 42DWLT66 Backlight Inverter
Post by: keithjac on March 17, 2011,10:31:12
I have a Toshiba 42" LCD TV with no display, the sound is fine and I can see there is a video output by lighting the screen with a touch so I'm pretty sure it is the backlight that is not working.

I have stripped the set down and removed the LCD screen but can't determine where the backlight inverter sits. I understand that it has probably blown a few capacitors and a fuse but I cannot see any blown components.

The set is a Toshiba 42WLT66 and would be grateful if someone can point me to the Backlight Inverter Board.

Many Thanks.

Hi Dave

I've been doing a little more digging and found the screen has Dual Backlight Inverters, Part Nos. VIT70023.50 (Master) and VIT70023.51 (Slave). Found the part numbers and looked them up on the internet.

So question is - Are they both faulty or which one is faulty. Neither board displays any blown components.

I was given the set because the owner had bought another and knowing I'm a computer engineer thought I might be able to fix it for myself. So I don't mind spending a bit but want to spend only the minimum.
