Hi,

Can anyone here help with these type of Capacitors 6KV 15PF. I need 38 for a AUO screen. The ones in this are well cooked. None are leakey, but for the first 10 minutes they make both inverter transformers buzz and tick. A bit like an old focus spark gap flashing over.

Hi Dave,

Cheers for the E-bay tip, I was having a look on there for Vishay or Panasonic types. None on E-bay though. Will have a quick look over at Farnels or CPC. Unless a member here has a few to sell.

I have had quite a few of these LG sets with a duff matrix, scan driver, data driver "chip on film" falling off. Always the AOU screens from 2008.

will bear that in mind mate if i come across any .but always on the lookout for chi mei fhd-cm lvds panels if you come across any .dave

Hi Dave,

I have scrapped lots of 32 inch Chi-Mei and 26 inch screens but never any 37/42 sets, sorry. I still have a box left of V315B1-L01 and V315B5-L01 and the odd Chungwha and Samsung.

Now what to do with the Chungwha... door stop maybe. Unless I find a good main board in a VISTRON/UNBRANDED  :57:

CHS have them, part No: 4457995 (General Ass. Mod Capacitor Disc 15pf 6kv  £1.11 EACH  :73:)

The 2 sets, here are LG, 42LG5010. And the one that came here today is LG 42LG3000. All models date from 2008. Never had a problem with these models fitted with LG/Philips panels (42LF2500 etc). Just seems to be the AOU ones.

When I get a spare minute, i'll jot down the AOU screen versions fitted.

Yes this seems to be a common problem on these LG screens, with the internal pcb mounting these capacitors burning-up, we've had at least three where we have so much damage they were write-offs (the plastic surround melted etc.)
The main givaway is the customer saying there is a 'funny smell' and the brightness varying.
