Hi
I’ve picked up an Orion Mod No TV32RN10D.
The set is dead no LED
No 125v on F404, no volts across main smoothing cap C405.
5v on D401,
Relay not switching.
Grateful for any help.
Thanks

Hello Pan,
The main supply is switched via a relay (RY401 I think), so it seems the switch-on from the main pcb is absent (the 5v is the stand-by supply).
Possibly a fault on this PCB.
Good luck
John.

hi
just check value of resisters feeding relay etc not come
across this model before

Hi Pan,
Tried to get the pic - now't. Couldn't you just take a pic and post it ?
Note an earlier Quuq thread suggesting D424 a problem - Chris
-
Hi Dave/John,
Yes did see that prob, D424 checks ok.
Checked resisters/components around the relay no fault found.
There is 5v on the relay coil (Not certain if that is high enough).
When I manually close the contacts on the relay I get voltage across the main smoothing Cap (over 300V). The fan turns on for a few moments
There is 5v on the LED /inferred sub panel.
No volts on the LED.
There is 5v on the inferred receiver, on two of the contacts.
Where do I go next?
NO don’t answer that.
Sorry about the photo.

Hi again Pan,
Guess everyone was trying to down-load that Power/Inverter piccy at the time I tried. Got it eventually and post here -
No suggestions as to next move as haven't seen one yet - fleshwise - Chris.

Looks as if there's been a bit of heat around diode to the left side of transformer. (can't quite read number) have you checked it for s/c. Doug

Hello,
Here's a manual using a similar power-supply (Power1 Schematic), the board layout is different, but the circuit is almost the same, and as they say 'owts better than nowt'!
Regards,
John.

Hi All
I just like to say THANKS to all you guys.
I’ve had to return the LCD back to the customer.
As they have decided to go for a larger one.
But rest assured I be back for ALL your help and thoughts again.
Thanks again.

Hi Watteau,
A shematic including both power and inverter - wow - bit unusual these days but what do we file it under so we can find it again - model looks a bit Wharfedale maybe - Chris.

Hello Pan,
It's actually a RCA model, that uses an ORION chassis.
Unfortunately all of our Orion circuits are paper manuals,
but the power-supply/inverter circuit was almost the same
as the TV32RN10D.
When I get time I will try to scan these circuits to jpgs.
Regards,
John
