 Hi there i have a sharp xl3000 hifi the problem is it won't play cd's.When a disc is inserted,it rotates for a few seconds then says no disc.I thought it may be the laser and have fitted a replacement, but the problem remains.Any help appreciated thanks.

try giving the spin motor a squirt of switch cleaner, may help if its running at the wrong speed

Hi T/7,

What laser ?  - some using that 3 x preset NKS240 equiv laser have dribbly caps dissolving the board.

Just a thought - Chris.
