me again have got the usual samsung with the two 2200uf caps bulging but the tv is still working with a dark picture . i can turn up the brightness but i have a flicker on the screen. suspect eeprom may be faulty but havent changed . i cant get the digital menu to come up and even though i can tune the analogue channel no stations appear only snow. have tried resetting on service menu but no change . any ideas thanks

and
change ready on to off

just change the eeprom i/c

did as advised and went to options in the service menu and turned reset from on to off and tuning fault was fixed . original fault was the two 2200uf caps.tv then came on but could not get digital menu tried to reset eeprom by shorting pins 5 @ 6 out . also went into option 8 of service menu and did a reset but when i went to the digital menu it just came up with "not available" fault now fixed . have had this fault a couple of times before after replacing caps but customer has usually had sky or virgin so it didnt matter thanks for your help

sometimes a reset will not work had same fault yesterday,
change eeprom fault cured

thanks dave . like i say it was just the usual fault and the reset didnt work . but i went to options on the service menu and the first one down says reset on as soon as i pushed the on to off the digital picture came back .

but ready on need change to off

Makes you wonder how many times he'll be told to change the eeprom before it sinks in

hallo again , the whole point of my reply dave was that the eeprom did not need to be replaced . all i did was to go into service menu go to options and go from reset on and change to off and problem solved.
