Hi, Had this set in today and customer informed me that her son had tried to reset the eprom as the digital side had stopped working. Now there are only blocks of colours changing on the panel and remote or side buttons will not work.probably needs re programming? any one know of the firmware for this model?.
Many thanks

Just found out that they have performed a factory reset on this tv thinking that it works like resetting their laptop back to factory settings. It is well and truly locked up now so will try to get eprom.
Unless anyone knows how to get out of this .
Many thanks

Did you get anywhere with this Robbie?
Just brought one in for the same fault.
Cheers.

Hi Robbie/GGTVBD
Don't yet have it listed - Vestel perhaps - ?
Give us a clue, we'll store and hopefully advise later Quuqers - Chris.

Had to say bye bye to this one. JVC badged but made for Comet by... Didn't look like a Vestel.

Hi, and sorry for the late reply but have been away.
I still have this set but the only thing i got out of Comet was you will have to fit new main board!
The price of it was too much to make a worth while repair. i did not spend too much time on this as it is a fault with the software having been reset to factory default and needed to be re flashed but got no where as to finding the available software. Apparantly if you reset this through service mode to factory reset the unit becomes useless so be warned!!

Hi Robbieh,
Your pic (not the best) looks like typical economical Chinese stuff - guess local recycling will soon be full of 'em - on the way back - Chris.
PS - Sorry Robbieh, note now pic was a GGTVBD jobby

Hi all,
Just to let you know that customer gave me this set as not worth paying for the repair so kept it in the w/shop for poss spares. Had the same TV in this week with cracked screen and changed main board now working ok! New customer loves it so made a penny on that one in the end.
Sorry to reply from so long ago but thought you would like to know.
Regards
Robbie
