Have a Toshiba 19W330DB which will not display a picture/sound when set to DTV (Freeview) input.
Also checked the HDMI input where I have Sky box input and also no picture/sound. OSD acknowledges 720p signal and also found sound cycles on/off every 10-20 seconds?
Checked the Analogue TV Tuner, which have never used and found I can get a tuned picture and sound on various terrestrial channels - although sound cycles on/off every 10-20 seconds?
Checked the SCART input with an ipod video feed - picture good, and again similar issue with sound drop out as other inputs.
Have got into the service menu on the TV input (Menu4725) and done a NV Reset - no change in operation.
Opened up the panel and found the unit has a "Vestel 17MB24H 2" main board.
Any idea's why the DTV/HDMI inputs are not working??
I assume this may be related to the sound drop out?
Is there any way to reflash the firmware - as read on other Toshiba related threads, try a firmware flash before replacing the main digital board.
Any helps/tips appreciated.
Many Thanks in advance.

Had a look at all Service Menu settings and can;t see anything obvious on setting up digital board.
OK have set the panel type and tuner type as per hardware but no change.

personally I detest these vestel combi boards although their all over production like a rash damn near all manufacturers have used or still use vestel stuff anyway I digress ! Try unplugging the eeprom from the board ( obviously with the set unplugged ) then power it up, it'll stay in standby and won't power up. Unplug again and re insert eeprom . On rebooting the eeprom should be re written with system defaults. you may be lucky but found lots of these eeproms going down and replacing and then re writing with a dump's the only cure, however its worth a bash ! good luck!
