Hi Guys,
I got a Philips 23PFL5522 with red LED which wouldn't switch on.
Replaced 12 bulging capacitors on PSU and unit now works. (did not replace main 400v or very small caps as they looked fine)
However, when powering on from cold on digital tuner - the unit works ok for about 5 minutes, then;
Picture dissapears for 5-10 seconds like the unit has been switched off - but green LED stays on - then the message 'bad/no signal' shows on screen and picture returns. Does this 3-4 times.
THEN
Picture dissapears, green LED flashes randomly or continuously at equal intervals, picture stays off - does this for 1-3 minutes then picture returns and carries on working perfectly for however long you have it switched on.
This ONLY happens when you power it on on digital (Freeview) tuner.
If you power on analogue or external input this doesn't happen and it just works fine constantly.
Can anybody shed any light on this?
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi Mark,
How's your signal and what's the main board ? Gather that Blighty will get a ten-times signal boost in December, making DVB and Scottish Power too cheap to meter.
Feel have been there B4 - Rather doubtful - Chris.

Hi Mark,
Have you you tried doing a factory reset?
It cures a lot of problems with Philips sets

Hi Guys,
Ok, signal is around 80% and it seems to have stopped cutting out altogether.
Have done a reset and retune and it has run fine from cold every day since :yahoo:
So perhaps, the cutting out was some sort of EPG/software/Firmware over the air updates which have now completed..
Anyway thanks for your input :13:
Mark.
