Any thoughts - Chris.

Is there any on/off signal pin9 cn2
when the led blink.
If yes goto
BN44-00232A ?

Hi Folks and thanks,
C609S and the rest not on this PS, all caps are 100/200/300 with no suffix. Checked possible spillage, seems to be original main board protection. There was no voltage on pin 9 of CN2 until after the 4th flash when it rose to around 12 volts, all other voltages Power and Main seem correct. Thanks for the BN44-00232A reference - unusually not printed on board.
Was there talk of inverter tranny probs with this model - checked driver, finding that it appeared to switch off after an initial output voltage flash ? Thanks again - Chris.

Hi Chris, just fixed one of these with similar probs. Have you checked for audio? Feed a set top box signal to scart to see if any audio. The tubes wearing can cause this fault. You can get round it by disabling the protection. Solder a 47K from pin 1 of ICU201 on PSU/Inverter PCB to ground. If it comes on the CCFLs are at fault. Whether you leave it like that is at your discretion.

Hi Dave, and thanks.
No chance to check audio, set doesn't actually turn on.
Noticed a Chinese Ebay ad for the inverter trannies used and bought some - too many perhaps, but might make a fortune - want some ? - Chris.

Chris, my set gave the same exact symptoms, light flashes 5 times then stays on. There was no sound and I thought the set was not on. It was only when I connected an external source that the sound came on. Thanks for the tranny offer, will bear it in mind for future. Note that the stand can be difficult to remove. It tends to get stuck. A bit of excessive force is required to remove it.There are no screws holding it in place.

Try this mate came from the service manual, TIP: How to drive the circuit by force when LCD panel Lamp is faulty.
- It is available to drive the circuit when the pin of 2 in Main_Power_control CN1101
connect the pin of 4.
In other words solder together pins 2 and 4 of the connector CN1101 the one between the PSU and Main I think from memory, and it disables the lamp out failure circuit

Hi Jimca, and thanks,
Will try your suggestion and check back - Chris.

Hi folks,
Eventually checked inverter Tx found it 700 Ohms one secondary and 5K the other - replacement did the biz. If anyone needs a tranny, bought 10 of them (TM-0917 NYD741FC)
Again, many thanks - Chris.
