Title: Sony KDL-40V3000 left side picture problem
Post by: markie76 on July 20, 2011,08:05:12
Hi Guys,

A friend of mine has a Sony KDL-40V3000 40 inch LCD tv and it has a problem where the left hand side of the picture is distorted (washed out/pixelated and colours all wrong/negative) in 6 vertical bands. There is one band which looks ok. See pictures below.

As the OSD is also distorted - I suspect the T-CON (LVDS) has gone faulty but on searching the forum I found a post that claims it could also be a screen issue where the bonding has failed.

So I just wanted a second opinon.

I haven't seen the unit in person yet, so does anyone know what the part number for the T-CON is - so I can start looking around for a replacement.

Thanks,

Mark.

Hi Markie76,

Had a 37 inch Vestel Hitachi with a similar fault where right half the screen was OK. Replaced Main so convinced it must be LVDS so bought one for serious customer cash - same problem - guess screen faulty.

Try borrow a LVDS - Chris.
