hi chaps i have this one with bad picture interfearence on on screen graphics and if using sky through hdmi strange thing is if i use a ps3 through hdmi the picture is perfect although on screen menu graphics although not corrupted still have a square section of interfearence through them any thoughts greatly appreciated  :sign0085:

lots of sammys seem to suffer from eeprom probs could try shortin 5&6 to reset it see if it irons out the fault either that or possibly the tcon....

hi jimca007 thanks for your reply the first iv had for a while. iv never done the eeprom reset before whats the procedure do i need to short it while its running or short it first then run it ? cheers mate .dave

Hi

It's best to erase the eeprom or fit a blank one. I find they can be erased in circuit. But I think it is more likely to be the Tcon board.

to erase/reset the eeprom you solder 2 longish wires onto pins 5 and 6 of the eeprom. join the wires re assemble power up the set ( switch on ) although the set won't actually turn on ! switch off and disconnect power remove wires and re assemble . start as usual . its actually quite straight forward dave . I've done it a few times and most times its helped when its been weird faults.

just as an after thought might be an idea to turn down the hdmi resolution from 1080 to 576 see if your pic clears up could be the input source isnt compatible with your screen resolution settings
